Mobile Flight Arrival Status Alert Service

If you require up to the minute Arrival Information on flights into Birmingham International Airport just as soon as it is available, then our SMS Service is for you!

What do I get?

New subscribers will receive a message confirming the details of the flight status booking.
You will receive a message with the expected time of arrival as soon as this information becomes available.
You will receive up to 2 further messages if the flight is either delayed or there is a significant change of over 15 minutes from the initial expected time.
You will receive another message when the flight has landed.
You will receive a message if the flight is either cancelled or diverted. This message is sent as soon as this information is known and overrides any other settings.
When available, you will receive a status update approximately 1 hour before the flight is due to land.
The service is available to UK users of the Orange, O2, T-Mobile, Virgin, Vodafone and 3 networks.
Each message will cost no more than 50p and you will be charged this on your mobile phone bill. You will only be charged when the message has been received.

There are 2 ways in which you can register to receive this information directly to your mobile phone:

Online

If the flight you require details on is arriving into Birmingham International Airport the day that you wish to request the information, then you can click on the 'SMS' link alongside your flights information on the Arrivals Page and just insert your mobile phone operator and phone number into the form. The rest is completed for you.

You can also pre-register for any arrival flight by completing a simple registration form, which indicates the date on which your flight is arriving.

Directly from your Mobile

This simple way of registering for this information means that you can register for arrival time alerts even when you're on the move.

For a flight arriving on the day of your request, just use your mobile phone to text "FLIGHT flightnumber " to the special 5-digit number or 'short code' -  60040

e.g. send  FLIGHT LH5964 to 60040


If you want to pre-book your service up to 8 days in advance, just add the date.

e.g. send  FLIGHT LH5964 01.08.05 to 60040

Please note that message requests are not case sensitive and are therefore acceptable in upper or lower case.

If you wish to cancel your request, just text
"FLIGHT CANCEL" to 60040.

(Please note, by sending 'FLIGHT CANCEL', messages not yet sent for any flight requests registered to your mobile will now be cancelled. You may still receive messages that are queued to go out. Any further flight requests required the same day will need to be re-registered.)
